"The Fetch" wins Audience Award at Austin Film Festival

November 4th, 2024

The 31st Annual Austin Film Festival (AFF) has come to a close, wrapping up eight days and nights of programming with over 150 films showcased. After each screening, audiences cast their votes for the stories they loved best, and AFF is thrilled to reveal the 2024 Audience Award Winners. These films struck a unique chord with viewers, sharing their stories in memorable ways. We’re honored to have been part of each film’s journey and eagerly anticipate where both the film and filmmaker will go from here.

Following the world premiere of Aisle7 Horror Film The Fetch at the 31st annual Austin Film Festival the previous week, the Audience Award Winners have been announced and include The Fetch, directed by J.C. Doler and written by Paul Petersen and J.C. Doler.

Based on the 2016 short film "Hangman", The Fetch tells the story of Nicholas, a grieving father haunted by a demon from Irish folklore known as a Fetch.

The movie stars Logan Donovan (Masters of Sex) as Nicholas, alongside Robert Longstreet (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, Halloween Kills) and Aleksa Palladino (The Irishman, Boardwalk Empire, Halt and Catch Fire). Shannon Cochran (The Ring, The Office), and Alex Barone (Mayans M.C., The Rookie) also star.

The film is produced by Logan Donovan, Alexander Jeffery, Paul Petersen, Brittany Fallow, Chris Alan Evans, and JC Doler. Screenplay by Paul Petersen and JC Doler. Directed and edited by JC Doler.

The film is currently awaiting sales and distribution.
